Busy weekend for area prep basketball teams

The Aspen High School boys and girls teams travel to Hotchkiss tonight. Action begins at 6 p.m. with the girls game.

The boys, 4-1 in Western Slope Conference play and 9-4 overall, hope to rebound from last Saturday’s disappointing league loss to Eagle Valley.

The girls, 4-1 in the WSC and 9-3 overall, captured two key league wins last weekend over Paonia and Eagle Valley, but fell to Glenwood Springs Tuesday.

On Saturday, the Skiers host Cedaredge at the Skierdome. The girls game tipoff is set for 4 p.m., with the boys game immediately following.

The Basalt High School boys and girls teams get to stay home tonight and Saturday for the first time all season.

Tonight, the Longhorns host Battle Mountain with the girls (5-0 in league play and 6-5 overall) game at 6 p.m. and the boys (3-2 in the WSC and 8-5 overall) immediately following.

Saturday, the Longhorns host Hotchkiss. Action begins at 2:30 p.m.
