Bush an unhealthy candidate

Dear Editor:Forget Michael Moore. Forget Rush Limbaugh. Listen to the nerds. These are the whitecoats that cure diseases and do brain surgery. In short, they’re smarter than you and me.A group of Nobel laureates, National Medal of Science recipients and members of the National Academy of Sciences issued a statement calling for Bush to restore scientific integrity to policy making. The statement includes:”A growing number of scientists, policy makers, and technical specialists both inside and outside the government allege that the current Bush administration has suppressed or distorted the scientific analyses of federal agencies to bring these results in line with administration policy.”There is a well-established pattern of suppression and distortion of scientific findings by high-ranking Bush administration political appointees across numerous federal agencies. These actions have consequences for human health, public safety, and community well being.”The number of scientists signing this statement has grown from the original 62 to over 5,300. Bush is dangerous to your health.Jim PaussaBasalt
