Bus lane construction switches lanes

Construction of new bus lanes between Buttermilk and the Roundabout on Highway 82 continues this week, with significant work and traffic reconfiguration underway.

From today until May 9, workers will move all traffic into the downvalley lanes from Buttermilk to the Maroon Creek bridge in order to prepare for the longer-term project detour.

Beginning mid-day on May 9, the contractor will move traffic into the upvalley lanes (one lane in each direction) between Buttermilk and the Maroon Creek bridge. This traffic configuration will be in place until mid-June.

The bus lane project, which is designed to improve transit travel time, is scheduled for a December 2008 completion.
