Burlesque event at Rec Room
Corsets, feathers, and frills will take over Rec Room, Aspen’s newest nightclub, tonight for a burlesque-themed party hosted by Messenger Aspen and the Roaring Fork Follies.
Messenger Aspen is a nightlife and entertainment guide that launched December 2015. The Roaring Fork Follies is a burlesque group that also formed last year.
If done tastefully, burlesque can transport people to another time, said Roaring Fork Follies director Dena Barnes, adding that the valley “is lacking in titillating and creative experiences.”
Guests are encouraged to wear their own burlesque or bohemian attire to the French-inspired soiree, said Messenger Aspen events and promotion coordinator Tansy Baigent.
Local DJs Logan Garrison and Jimmy Ayers will perform at the event, which is sponsored by Vintage Bijoux Boutique.
