Buddies had fun with cops
Dear Editor: I am writing this letter on behalf of seven Big and Little Buddies who had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with the Aspen Police Department on Wednesday afternoon, June 15. Linda Consuegra, a Big Buddy and patrol sergeant, contacted The Buddy Program to invite us to participate in an activity with the department. Our Buddy pairs were able to ride along with police and community safety officers, as well as meet the amazing women who run the dispatch center! A big thank you to Michelle and Mic who also helped by serving us cookies and putting together goodie bags complete with badges and T-shirts for the Little Buddies! The final highlight was dinner at Boogie’s with the officers, a chance to talk and get to know each other over a casual meal.Thank you to Linda Consuegra, Terry Leitch, Matt Burg, Renee Rayton, Roderick O’Connor, Rob Fabrocini, Melissa Clare, Michele McClinton, Michelle White, Linda Kimmel and Patty Nadon. This activity was a wonderful example of the community coming together to support our children! Thank you!Lindsay HoffmannProgram Coordinator, The Buddy Program

Basalt High School choir director Brittany von Stein made her first court appearance Wednesday for advisement on the criminal charges filed against her for alleged sexual relations with a student. The criminal case was sealed by a judge’s order so limited information was available.
