Bring on the TV-show tourism

Dear Editor:

Bravo, Mr. Krevoy (“Producer wants to shoot part of new TV series in Aspen area,” April 3, The Aspen Times). And as they say in the old country, “Bon courage.” I hope you are able to film that Hallmark TV series in Colorado.

The potential economic benefits from a TV series can far outstrip that of a single commercial or feature-film shoot. It simply takes more time to shoot a TV series – and time is money.

Our state’s film-incentive program has reinvigorated a lot of the local film industry, and it would be great if it could keep going at current levels. There is also a tangible benefit to tourism with a “filmed in Colorado,” or better yet, “filmed in Aspen,” tag in the credits.

What a great opportunity to fine-tune our permitting process so it benefits both the local community and the production.
