Brilliant journalism

Dear Editor:

We have two treasures in this town. I attended the live broadcast of “Democracy Now” with Amy Goodman at GrassRoots TV on July 2 and 3.

To see the staff of GrassRoots TV, young and committed, pull this show together gave me hope that brightness shines once again. To watch the questioning of Amy Goodman with her guests was to witness brilliance in journalism.

A void in journalism is something we have been faced with for about two or three decades, but to watch the “Democracy Now” crew put relevant story after story across to the 700 TV stations and radio stations across the country and around the world is to be a witness to a new journalism that is alive and so important to our democracy. We were so lucky, this Fourth of July, to have Amy Goodman in town and GrassRoots TV.

Bravo ” you guys made my summer.

Andy Hanson
