Breaking news: Feds shut down Maroon Creek Road

The shutdown of the federal government has led to the closure of Maroon Creek Road.

The road is closed to all uphill vehicular traffic just above the T Lazy 7 ranch, about one-half mile below the U.S. Forest Service entry portal. The Forest Service has closed all campgrounds, parking lots and rest-room facilities at the Maroon Bells and all campgrounds in the Maroon Creek Valley until further notice.

Pedestrians and bicycles can still use the road.
