Bravo, Theatre Aspen
August 21, 2008
I saw my fourth and final show of the season at Theatre Aspen on Thursday night, and I just want to commend the organization and all the people involved for an excellent summer of productions. “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Rounding Third,” “Seussical,” and “Crimes of the Heart” were all thoroughly entertaining and professionally presented, and there is only one week of the season left. In fact, congratulations are in order for the casts of “Seussical” and “Little Shop,” which both close on August 16th. Well done!
We were told before Thursday’s show that not one, but three matching grants have been offered up for donated dollars by Oct. 1 ” your $1 donation becomes $4. Kudos to these generous contributors, and I encourage all lovers of the stage to take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity to support local theater.
On a related note, don’t forget to go see William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado about Nothing” in Galena Park on Aug. 23, 27, or 30, presented by the Hudson Reed Ensemble free of charge at 6:30 p.m. What a great summer for theater in Aspen!
