Bravo from Theatre Aspen

Dear Editor:

As the season winds down for Theatre Aspen, I wanted to reflect for a moment on some extraordinary partnerships we’ve enjoyed this summer. Generous underwriting from some of our donors has enabled us to present our summer productions to wonderful valley groups like the Aspen Camp for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, English in Action, Camp Sunnyside, the Roaring Fork Valley Home School Network, the Early Learning Center, Camp Roaring Fork and Blue Lake Preschool.

Making theater accessible is a very big part of our mission, and there is nothing more exciting than watching the faces of audience members who are seeing a live theatrical production for the very first time – although watching young children meet the actors following a performance is right up there.

I’d like to thank Lara Beaulieu and Liz Penzel from English in Action, Lesa Thomas and the unbelievably dedicated interpreters from Aspen Camp School for the Deaf, to our enormously large-hearted donors Clare and Steve Shane, Jim and Brenda Grusecki and our other underwriters who wished to remain anonymous.

We’d love to hear from the community about more partnerships as we look forward to our 30th anniversary next season!
