Bove uphill set for Saturday at Buttermilk
Aspen, CO, Colorado
ASPEN – Challenge Aspen will host the Chris Bove Memorial Uphill Challenge, an uphill race and walk-a-thon, starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the base of Buttermilk Mountain.
Outdoor enthusiasts of any age or ability level are encouraged to take part in this 1,800-vertical-foot climb up Buttermilk.
Participants may use the nonmotorized equipment of their choice: snowshoes, stabilizers, telemark skis, cross-country skis or alpine touring equipment. Following the race, a celebration at the Cliffhouse Restaurant will include a pancake breakfast and prize giveaways.
Proceeds from the event benefit Challenge Aspen’s Chris Bove Memorial Scholarship and the Children’s Hospital Immunodeficiency Program of Denver.
Participants may register for $40 online at http://www.challengeaspen.org/bmuphill.cfm or at Ute Mountaineer. Race-day registration starts at 6:45 a.m. Registration costs $50 on race day.
