Boulderama!

Aspen Times writer

About 30 children and 25 adults participated in the fifth annual Boulderama at the Red Brick Recreation Center in March. Kids, teens and adults worked with a partner and were given a set time to scale routes on a professionally set wall. They were then judged on how they completed the problem. People came from all over the state to participate, and winners walked away with gear prizes by the contest’s sponsors, which included Climbing magazine, Summit Canyon Mountaineering, KDNK, Aspen Expeditions, the Ute Mountaineer and more.

And the first-place kids and teen winners were: Drew Altman [6- to 8-year-old girls], Ladd Taylor [6- to 8-year-old boys], Logan Garrison [9- to 11-year-old boys], Tess Stevens [12- to 14-year-old girls], Jesse Nestler [12- to 14-year-old boys], Megan Raczak [15- to 17-year-old girls], and Ben Merrill [15- to 17-year-old girls].
