LEADVILLE, Colo. – Both lanes of U.S. 24 over Tennessee Pass have reopened following repairs to fix a 100-foot-deep hole.

The contractor Hayward Baker Inc. worked to repair the hole, which opened July 9 when the soil gave way above an abandoned, collapsed railroad tunnel.

One lane reopened last week, ahead of schedule. The Colorado Department of Transportation fully reopened the road Friday night.

The USA Pro Cycling Challenge plans to send racers over the route Aug. 23.
