Bonfire Dinner shines
Dear Editor:
Thank you to all of the people who, again, made Saturday night’s AVSC Progressive Bonfire Dinner such a great Aspen tradition. What a lovely evening it was … guided by the light of charming luminaries around the well-groomed trail, stopping along the way for food and drinks, seeing and greeting old friends for some social time around the warm and cozy bonfires … it’s a special delight.
Thank you to all of the restaurants, caterers and others who provided delicious treats. Thank you to all of the friendly volunteers who helped to serve the skiers. Thank you to the XC staff who donated time and effort to organize and set it up. And thanks for all of the participating skiers, snowshoers and hikers who joined in on this wonderful event. These kinds of events are what makes this valley shine. I’m already looking forward to next year.

Aspen and Pitkin County have the largest black bear population and as such, are hoping for a big portion of a Colorado Parks and Wildlife grant to help educate and enforcement rules around securing trash.
