TIMNATH, Colo. – Investigators say a 51-year-old man has been found dead in a sport utility vehicle in Deadman’s Lake in northern Colorado.

The Colorado State Patrol says Thomas Primus of Fort Collins drove his 2001 Honda CRV off the right side of a sharp curve and into the lake. It’s not clear when that happened but a driver saw the CRV floating in the lake Saturday morning and called authorities.

There is no guardrail along the lake but there are multiple signs warning of the curve. Investigators believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

Sgt. Bob Rood says it doesn’t look like the man skidded or tried to break before leaving the road.
