Block party for the mind

Dear Editor:

I would like to announce the first-ever Aspen Ideas Block Party to be held at Rio Grande Park on July 1. This will be a day in the park filled with food, fun, festivities, and, most of all, creativity and the exchange of ideas.

As part of the day’s events, there will be a Trade Show for Ideas. Local individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations with creative, useful and fun ideas to share may apply to participate by today. We are looking for a diverse group of engaging, exciting and curious minds.

The Aspen Ideas Block Party is focused on connecting global ideas with local action and will feature expert speakers on the following themes:

• “Jobs and the Economy: Is the Crisis Permanent?”

• “The Arts and Culture: Art Matters!”

• “Raising the 21st-Century Child”

The Aspen Ideas Block Party is presented by Roaring Fork Leadership and the Aspen Institute to engage the public in a free event during the Ideas Festival weekend.

This is going to be a fantastic, not-to-be-missed event, and participation is absolutely free!
