Billing problems continue

Dear Editor:

Around six months ago I received numerous calls regarding Aspen Valley Hospital’s billing practices and A-1 Collection Agency issues. As I have done in the past, I took these complaints to a board meeting.

Unlike before, when I had praised (CEO David) Ressler for being proactive regarding resolving these issues, members of the board denied it, and many consumers continue to be ripped off. These wrongful practices run the gamut – double billing, lack of response to complaints, lack of resolution and then off to the harassing A-1 Collection Agency. I am confident that one reason the board chose to ignore the complaints I had brought before them is because it was at a time when the local papers were experiencing cutbacks and there was not one reporter to cover this situation.

The situation has gotten so out of control that there are even doctors and nurses that work there who are experiencing these similar complaints as us everyday consumers, yet for fear of retaliation they are scared to raise these issues to the board.

So once again we must stand together as a community and make it loud and clear we will not accept this anymore.

Please e-mail at ksinger313@aol.com if you have any unresolved issues with AVH’s billing practices and/or A-1 Collection. All information is strictly confidential.
