Bike to work on Wednesday

ASPEN ” Commuters throughout the Roaring Fork Valley are encouraged to leave their autos in the garage and pedal to work on Wednesday.

Bike to Work Day, a statewide observance that promotes an environmentally friendly commute, will entice bicyclists with free breakfast goodies and other treats at three locations in Aspen, as well as at sites in Basalt and Carbondale.

Participants can stop by any of the sites to receive free eats and goodie bags, plus the chance to win Amtrak tickets, Frontier Airlines gift cards, Marriot gift cards, concert tickets, rounds of golf and more.



Gatherings in Aspen will take place from 7 to 10 a.m. at Bugsy Barnard Park, on the Rio Grande Trail near the skate park, and at West Hopkins and South Fourth Street.

In Basalt, head to the library from 6:30 to 10 a.m.




In Glenwood, the Bike to Work station will be at Centennial Park from 6 to 10 a.m.
