Bike rodeo was a team effort

Dear Editor:

Basalt Recreation and Basalt Police departments would like to thank everyone who helped to make our bike rodeo on May 25 so much fun.

Thank you to the bike team and staff of Basalt Bike and Ski, Michael Shea, Charlie Eckart, Annie Gonzales, Jason LaPointe, Jay Wright and Joel Mischke. Thanks to Basalt Fire and Rescue, Brooke Bishop, Chris Cohan, Bill Harding, Gary Lutzeier, Steve McKinney and Eric Rock for their help and bringing their fire truck and ambulance for the kids to tour. Thank you to the AVH Trauma for bringing helmets so we could make sure all the bikers have helmets. Thank you to Basalt Mayor Leroy Duroux and Town Manager Bill Kane for lending a hand.

We enjoy putting this bike rodeo on every spring to make sure the young bike riders in Basalt are ready for a safe summer of riding.

Dorothy Howard, Basalt Recreation

Michael Hutton, Basalt Police
