Big game tonight
On behalf of the Aspen High School Booster Club, I would like to thank the entire community for supporting all the high school events during Spirit Week and Homecoming. Your spirit and enthusiasm was greatly appreciated.
The resurrection of the traditional bon fire was a huge success, as more than 300 people met at the corner of Cooper and Galena to enjoy cookies, hot chocolate and celebrate our local youth athletes. A special thank you to Randy Ready and the city of Aspen, Brian Nichols and Ed Van Walraven with the Aspen Fire Department, Paradise Bakery, Don Bird and Tony Codd, Charlie Martin, Teree Johnson, John Romanus and Aspen Snow Removal. Thank you to students Philip Nevin, Hannah Pike and Meg Lansburg. Thank you to Alpine Bank for underwriting the bon fire.
Thank you to Penny Richey of Balloon Affairs and Mark with the Maroon Creek Club for their Homecoming support. As always, thank you to Jim Lawrence of KUUR, Don Chaney of KSNO and David Bach of KSPN for their support of youth activities and their willingness to support community events on the air.
See you next year at the bon fire and Homecoming events. In the meantime, there is always something wonderful going on at the Aspen High, Middle and Elementary schools. Please look online at aspenk12.net to see the schedule for plays, art shows, athletics and club events.
Come and support the No. 9-ranked Aspen Skiers football team at 7 o’clock tonight for the biggest game of the year against the No. 2-ranked Olathe Pirates. We need a big crowd to cheer our Skiers to victory!s

Aspen’s dirty downtown alleys are enough of a blight that the city government is taking the initiative to clean them up this week.
