Big Brother is licking his chops

Dear Editor:

As I sit atop my slice of paradise watching the world devolve, I wonder: Will history prove true the saying, “The people perish for lack of knowledge”?

It doesn’t have to be, folks, if we will but take some time to educate ourselves about the very real and current threats to our basic rights and liberties.

We are truly being bombarded from all sides right now, but the latest is a barrage of attacks aimed at the Internet and comes in the form of a bill that was just passed by the House and is now headed for the Senate, with support from both sides of the aisle.

The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act is the descendent of Stop Online Piracy Act, another Internet security bill just voted down. This time, however, the act has the backing of major Internet companies such as Facebook.

Yes, we need Internet security, but the broad language about the use of the data collected (on all of us) leaves little doubt about the true motives of some of its backers. It’s not about keeping us safe, folks. Educate yourself because at this time in history there are people out there in government and big business that are busy using our tax dollars to set up a control grid for total world domination. Sounds nuts, I know, but look around – this is what a relatively few powerful bad guys can do if we don’t speak up.

So do some homework, check out the bill, and let our senators know that you won’t tolerate these continued assaults on your right of Internet privacy and freedom.
