Beware of the cultish churches
There is a cult movement in the religious right evangelicals ” see The Wall Street Journal, Jan. 18. I call them THEOCONS: con for conservative and con for con artists.
If a member the congregation disagrees with the pastor on even one point, the member is kicked out and, in some cases, even the police are called. Many members stay out of fear ” gee, wonder if they learned that from the Bush presidency. We have a pastor right here in Aspen who I shall refer to as El Flaco who uses this policy. People need to be aware of these dangerous churches.
Start a dialogue, stay on topic and be civil.

There is a lot of pent up energy among hikers and bikers to get into the high country, but snow fields, avalanche debris and high stream crossings are presenting challenges later than usual. Forest rangers with the Aspen-Sopris District provide trail condition reports that are updated each week so hikers and backpackers aren’t caught unaware.
