Beverly Marolt-Barnes

Aspen native Beverly Marolt-Barnes died Jan. 11, 2009 in Arcadia, Mo. She was 78 years old.

Beverly was born and raised in Aspen, the first child of William and Celia Marolt. She graduated from Aspen High School in 1948 and was a member of the PTA for many years. She was also an avid antiques collector and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Aspen, where she married Robert Barnes on Dec. 10, 1948.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; son Rod Barnes; and brothers George “Bud” Marolt and William Marolt; as well as four neices, four nephews and a host of grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins, all of whom have their roots in Aspen. She was preceeded in death by a brother, Max Marolt, and her parents.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at St. Mary Catholic Church, followed by burial at Red Butte Cemetery in Aspen and a reception at the Aspen Elks Lodge.
