Behrendt walks the walk

Dear Editor:

I have lived across S. Third Street from Mike Behrendt’s St. Moritz Lodge since 1971. Mike has owned it since 1966. Over that long period of time, I have seen that he is a good enough boss for many workers to have spent up to 17 years working for him. He invites his neighbors to use his outdoor swimming pool.

At his own expense and considerable effort, he led his neighbors in constructing a wide and well-graded entrance that connects the Midland railroad trail to the elbow of our street corner at S. Third and W. Hyman. Every year, he restores the flower beds beside that trail.

He has walked the walk with employee housing mitigation, and charges his employees nothing for their housing and utilities.

He is someone to whom we neighbors look to if we need anything from a newspaper to a tool.

Now, Mike Behrendt is running for council, and we neighbors support him wholeheartedly.
