Beer for a better Earth

Dear Editor:

If you bought a beer at the Super Diamond concert on Friday night, your $2 supported the Environment Foundation’s efforts to protect the Roaring Fork Valley. Created by Aspen Skiing Company employees 10 years ago, the Environment Foundation is primarily funded through employee donations that are matched by Aspen Skiing Company’s Family Fund and the Aspen Community Foundation.

In 10 years the foundation has donated more than one million dollars to 233 projects throughout the valley, including trail maintenance, renewable energy, and environmental education. On Friday evening we raised almost $2,000. Many of you offered very generous tips, and servers donated those tips to the foundation as well!

Thank you for drinking for the environment! The next time you see a story about the Environment Foundation’s work … you were part of it. Thanks also to Andy Hanson, Mike Spayd, David Corbin, Deric Gunshor, Auden Schendler, Joe Nichols, Ryan Miller, Vanessa Anthes, and John Rigney for their support.
