Beaver Creek pushes back opening

Vail Daily Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

BEAVER CREEK, Colo. ” Opening day at Beaver Creek has been moved from Wednesday to Friday so mountain crews can make more snow.

The weather forecasts call for snow and weather cold to make snow efficiently.

“With this forecast, we will be able to finish snowmaking at the base of the mountain for a Friday opening and the holiday weekend,” said John Garnsey, chief operating officer for Beaver Creek Resort.

Crews are making snow on the Latigo and Haymeadow runs and the Birds of Prey race course. The World Cup races are scheduled for Nov. 29 to Dec. 2.

Vail Mountain is still scheduled to open Wednesday.
