Be positive, dress up

Dear Editor:The violence in the Middle East that rages on 24 hours a day, seven days a week really disturbs me deep down to my core. Lately I have been wondering what I can do to make a difference. Besides trying to live an energy-efficient lifestyle (to minimize my dependence on foreign oil) what can I, one person, really do?The thing I can do that I feel will have the largest impact on the planet is to be positive. What better way to be positive than to dress up in costume! That’s why I’ve started Dress-Up Wednesday. When I say dress up, I mean get your freak on! Dress up in costume, make people smile and laugh, make yourself laugh! I have been dressing up for the past few Wednesdays and I must say it is so much fun to laugh with strangers, friends, kids and co-workers.The more people who celebrate Dress-Up Wednesday, the more positive energy we will send into the universe therefore making a larger impact on the war-riddled world we live in today.”Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won’t adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is sign on as an accomplice.” – Tom Watson, American golfer.I hope to see people all over the valley having fun and celebrating Dress-Up Wednesday. If you don’t have a costume box started, there is no time like the present and it is really too much fun to dress up!Stacy SteinBasalt
