Be heard, bikers
Dear Editor:
The newly paved sections of the Rio Grande trail have made bicycle riding faster and, in most cases, silent. As a biker, please show a modicum of awareness and courtesy by announcing your approach of anyone from behind, well in advance of your pass.
I use the trail several days a week and, due to increased summer bike traffic, have been startled by passing bikers every single time. Relinquishing my use of the trail to avoid their lack of consideration is neither logical nor fair.
If you bike the trail, it is on you to make your presence known – not resented.
