Basalt summer kicks off
Dear Editor:Basalt kicked the summer season into high gear Wednesday, June 18, in Lions Park, downtown Basalt. The first summer concert of the season brought the Brazilian sounds of Caji & Salome, the Basalt Regional Heritage Societys annual fried-chicken-dinner fundraiser and over 100 music enthusiasts out for a beautiful night of colorful music, catching up with friends and dancing.Special thanks go out to the 2008 Summer in Basalt sponsors, the Basalt Regional Heritage Society and all who ventured out and made this first concert of the season a huge success. Concerts will rotate between Lions Park and Triangle Park, at Willits Town Center, each Wednesday night through Sept. 17.You wont want to miss next Wednesdays concert in Triangle Park, when we bring out some Louisiana flair with Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe! Concerts start around 5:30 p.m. and run until approximately 8 p.m.The 2008 Summer in Basalt is in full swing.
