Basalt shooting range will close for soundproofing
BASALT – The Lake Christine Shooting Range in Basalt will close temporarily April 25 for upgrades that include installation of soundproofing material, Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced Tuesday.
The parks and wildlife department teamed with the town of Basalt to raise $163,550 for the project. Parts of the range will be partially enclosed. Construction is likely to continue through May 1.
“When the project is complete, shooters will once again be able to enjoy the only facility of its kind in the Roaring Fork Valley while neighbors enjoy the reduction in noise,” Colorado Parks and Wildlife said in a statement.
