Basalt Scouts collect tents for use in Haiti

Aspen Times staff report
Aspen, CO Colorado

BASALT – Boy Scout Troop 242 of Basalt collected scores of tents in a “Tents for Haiti” effort that ended last weekend.

The troop collected tents at the Basalt library and made arrangements to ship them to Haiti to provide shelter for those made homeless by the earthquake last month. A Colorado Springs relief organization agreed to send the tents as part of its weekly shipment of supplies to Haiti.

The Boy Scouts wanted to thank everyone who contributed, the library for serving as a collection site and Telephone Systems Consultants for transporting the tents to Colorado Springs.
