Basalt pride shines through
On behalf of the Basalt Booster Club, congratulations go out to the Basalt High School Longhorns for throwing the most amazing homecoming celebration we have seen in Basalt in years!
The students, administration, faculty, parents and the community truly came together to support this event. Midland Avenue was sparkling with purple and gold balloons, “Go Longhorn” banners and cheering crowds during the homecoming parade.
The BHS students held a pep rally at the middle school that fired so much enthusiasm and pride in our school that everyone walked away proud to be a Longhorn!
The pre-game tailgate party was swarming with fans enjoying barbecue from Smoke Modern Barbeque restaurant. And when the gates opened at the football game on Friday night, the town poured in to see their Basalt Longhorns play a hard-fought game to victory.
Special thanks goes out to Principal Kevin Schott and his staff, the leadership team of students, and faculty advisers Ralph Smalley and Katie Hone Wiltgen for all their hard work. To the business that helped sponsor the events: Alpine Bank, Basalt Chamber, Chaffin Light Real Estate, Roaring Fork Club, Express Yourself, Smoke Modern Barbeque, El Korita, Upper Crust Bakery and Cuvee Restaurant. And especially to Beth Mobilian, who had the vision of what homecoming could be and worked enthusiastically to make it happen. Our students will always remember Basalt Homecoming 2011.
It’s good to be a Longhorn!
