Basalt prepares for homecoming events
BASALT – Basaltines are donning their purple for homecoming events today.
The homecoming parade through the downtown core will start at 1:15 p.m. There will be a tailgate party at 5 p.m. at Basalt High School. It will be catered by Smoke Modern BBQ and feature pulled-pork sandwiches for $8. There will be music and a bouncy house for youngsters.
The Basalt Longhorns football game will be against Olathe at 7 p.m.
High school students will have a homecoming dance after the game.

Registration is open for the 28th annual Ride for the Pass, which is set for Saturday morning on Highway 82 east of Aspen.
