Basalt narrows town manager field

BASALT ” The field of candidates for the Basalt town manager position has been narrowed to three from 18.

The three finalists are: Joe Kirby, Montrose County manager; Alex Potente, Eagle County managing director of housing and development as well as assistant county attorney; and Chuck Stearns, town administrator at Georgetown, Colo., and former town manager at Mount Crested Butte.

The council will host a “meet the finalists” reception at Town Center Booksellers on Thursday, Nov. 6. from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The reception is open to the public. Comment cards will be available to the public and will be reviewed by council members sometime following the reception.

The council is seeking a replacement for Bill Efting, who resigned earlier this year. He volunteered to stay on through the end of the year to help with the transition.
