Basalt Library to hold book sale

Aspen Times Staff Report

The Basalt Regional Library will hold its annual Summer Book Sale on Saturday, Aug. 21, in conjunction with River Days.

The one-day sale will be open to the public at 10 a.m. outside the library. The library itself will be open for regular hours.

The library will accept donations up to 7 p.m. Thursday. All books in good condition, even paperbacks, will be accepted. Magazines, textbooks and Reader’s Digest Condensed books won’t be accepted because they don’t sell.

“We use the money we make at the sale to support the children’s summer reading programs,” director Jean Winkler wrote in the library newsletter.

Library supporters can also help by donating their time to set up or tear down the facilities needed for the sale. Volunteers are allowed to shop for the best bargains before the official opening Saturday.

Volunteers can call the library at 927-4311.
