Basalt Fire Department calls
Editor’s note: The following are the emergency calls that the Basalt Fire Department responded to between Aug. 13 and Monday.
Aug. 13 at 3:38 p.m. — Responded to a medical call outside Basalt for a female who fell and injured her hip. She was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital.
Aug. 13 at 11 p.m. — Assisted the Snowmass-Wildcat Fire Department with a medical call up Snowmass Creek and Divide Road. The call was canceled while a team was en route.
Aug. 14 at 4:45 p.m. — Mutual-aid call from the Carbondale Fire Department for a medical issue up Missouri Heights. One patient was transported to Valley View Hospital.
Saturday at 12:38 p.m. — Responded to a report of smoke sighted in the area of Ruedi Shores. Nothing was found.
Saturday at 4:11 p.m. — Responded to a panic alarm in East Sopris Creek. A Pitkin County sheriff’s deputy arrived on the scene and canceled the response of the Basalt Fire Department.
Monday at 9:24 p.m. — Responded to Willits for a man who fell and suffered a head injury. He was transported to Valley View Hospital.
Monday at 3:42 p.m. — Responded to a medical call in El Jebel. A male patient was transported to Valley View Hospital.

Broadcaster Jim Williams of KSPN and KNFO is leaving the valley after eight years of serving as the voice of Aspen, Basalt and Roaring Fork high school’s sports.
