Bartenders accepting nominees for Linza Award
Virtue may be its own reward, but for the next few weeks, the Aspen Bartenders’ Charity Ball Committee is soliciting nominees to recognize for their good deeds.
At this year’s 10th annual charity ball, the Linza Award will be awarded for distinguished service in the community. The award was established last year to honor former Isis Theatre owners Dominic and Kitty Linza for their 32 years of local service.
Nominations will be accepted until March 18. Winners will receive two tickets to the ball, lodging in Snowmass Village the night of the event, and formal recognition at the charity ball.
Nominations can be mailed to: Aspen Bartenders’ Charity Ball; Linza Award nominees; P.O. Box 1998; Aspen, CO 81612, faxed to (970) 926-1495, or e-mailed to epsm@colorado.net.
Tickets for the April 17 ball can be purchased at the Wheeler Opera House box office. Individual tickets are $125 each, a sponsor table of six is $900, or a sponsor table of 10 can purchased for $1,500.
Attendees at the charity ball, held at the Snowmass Conference Center, can expect a gourmet buffet, dancing, a casino, a silent auction, Sunday brunch the next day, and a specially priced room at the Wildwood Lodge.

‘One step at a time’: Snowmass resident surpasses goal of 85 uphills for his 85th birthday
At the start of the 2023-2024 ski season, Mone Anthan set an ambitious goal for himself: uphill 85 times for his 85th birthday. By the time his birthday came on March 15, he had surpassed 85 uphills and was shooting for 100.
