Bag patrol does not speak for me

Dear Editor:

Please do not force your bag-fee policy on our communities. There is already too much government meddling into personal-choice affairs. Have you seen the disgusting cloth bags that people carry around that make them think they are doing something worthwhile? In reality they are contaminating their purchases.

Energy saving: Don’t believe it. If people wash their cloth bags, what about energy used there? More? OK, you say wash with other clothes – then you wreck your other clothes with fading and turning colors.

This is all about control – we don’t want it at the grocery store. What about all the other plastic bag? These have been a blessing in many people’s lives. We use them over and over for many useful purposes.

And what about all the plastic bags to put the veggies in? You guys and gals should find something better to do with the time you have to represent us. You do not represent me or many others.

Back down from this insane power and control position. You say money generated can purchase cloth bags for people. I don’t want you purchasing for me. I don’t want you taking away or charging me.

We have enough financial concerns without adding plastic bags to the grocery bill or energy to our bill to wash the unwanted items with each use. Sometimes what you think is the “politically correct” thing is only you jumping in where you don’t belong.
