Bad timing

Dear Editor:

Have the Friends of Crown Mountain Recreation Center somehow missed the fact that the new property valuations are driving our taxes through the roof! Do they really need to be hustling us to raise our taxes even higher when the valley’s economy is slipping away by the day?

A new rec center might be great idea, but now isn’t the time! Now is the time for everyone to urge our taxing entities to hold down their spending and refrain from putting an even bigger burden on an already strained community. The Friends of Crown Mountain Recreation Center should spend their $100,000 helping those in need rather than helping a local developer get his project approved.
