Staff report
Glenwood Springs Post Independent

A multiple-vehicle crash including a RFTA bus on Highway 82/South Glen in Glenwood Springs late Friday afternoon caused traffic backups and resulted in at least one minor injury, according to emergency officials.

The wreck happened about 4:32 p.m. during the busy evening commute, and just as people were headed up valley for the X Games events in Aspen.

Traffic was backed up in both directions for just under an hour, before tow trucks arrived and cleared the scene.

According to a Glenwood Springs Fire Department spokesman, the wreck happened at the north Walmart turnoff and involved one RFTA bus and six passenger vehicles. An occupant of one of the cars was transported to Valley View Hospital with minor injuries, the spokesman said.

The Glenwood Springs Police Department was investigating the incident.
