Autumn is in the air
Whoever said offseason begins when the calendar rolls to September wasn’t in the Roaring Fork Valley the weekend of Sept. 18-19.
In Aspen, rugby ruled as Aspen Ruggerfest’s 37th edition rolled into town. The Gentlemen of Aspen beat the Denver Barbarians 13-7 in a muddy match Sunday for the open division title. In Snowmass, the 28th annual Snowmass Balloon Festival filled the sky with color, while the Food and Wine Festival in Snowmass had people eating and drinking on the mall. Farther downvalley, in Carbondale, the Town Rodeo series wrapped up in an action-packed finale.
And, of course, locals and visitors alike reveled in the spectacular fall colors – at their peak in the high country and around town.
