Autism advocate touched many

Dear Editor:I heard the sad news that Liz Birt, parent and tireless autism advocate, was killed in an unfortunate car accident on Highway 82 in Colorado.I first met Liz at the DAN conferences back in the late 1990s in Cherry Hill, N.J., and at the first rally in Washington, D.C., in 2000. We have communicated over the years via e-mail and telephone, and she was never one to give up getting to the truth about vaccines and autism. There were times that I needed encouragement because of the hell our family was going through, and hers. She was always there with an encouraging word. She did a lot in her short life and she will be sorely missed. There will be a special place for Liz in heaven. My prayers are with her and her family. God bless.Ray GallupLake Hiawatha, N.J.
