Author James Salter to speak

Regarded as one of America’s most esteemed post-war writers, James Salter will appear in Aspen today as part of the Aspen Writers’ Foundation’s Winter Words series.

Salter will present “All That Is,” a novel about one man’s journey from naval officer to book editor and a world on the brink of change. The author will share insights from the book, his first novel in more than 30 years, and highlights from his famed career as a screenwriter, novelist and short-story writer.

Today’s event begins at 6 p.m. in Paepcke Auditorium. General admission is $20; a season subscription is $90. Purchase tickets at or 970-920-5770.
