Aspen’s Molly Gibson Lodge to hold fundraiser for animal shelter

ASPEN – The Molly Gibson Lodge is inviting the community – and its dogs – to Waggin’ Wednesday, a community barbecue and fundraiser for the Aspen Animal Shelter.

The barbecue will be held on Molly Gibson’s back lawn Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Beer, wine, soft drinks, burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, cookies and ice cream will be served. Local guitarist and singer Sara Fadness will perform. There is a suggested $15 donation. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Aspen Animal Shelter.

“We hope locals will join us in this fun happy hour,” said Molly Gibson general manager Jeff Bay. “This is also a way to support the Aspen Animal Shelter – one of the many community nonprofits that make Aspen such a special place.”

In the event of rain, the barbecue will move inside to the Molly Gibson’s breakfast room.

Michael and Aaron Brown purchased the Molly Gibson Lodge in 2007 and upgraded the property. The hotel, founded in 1955, is located at 101 W. Main St. in Aspen. For more information, call 970-925-3434.
