ASPEN – Actual reservations on the books at Aspen lodges, hotels and condos for the rest of March are up compared with the same month a year ago, according to data released last week by the Aspen Chamber Resort Association.

The numbers were compiled by the Mountain Travel Research Program.

Projected occupancies, based on reservations made by March 15 for the final week of the month, suggest Aspen will be more than 10 percent more full than it was last year. For the remainder of this week, reservations will spike Friday, when the resort will see 57 percent occupancy, based on bookings made by March 15.

Reservations in April, through April 5, were also up in Aspen, though by lesser margins.

The occupancy report for Snowmass Village indicates actual bookings for the final days of March, made by the 15th, are up slightly over last year. Thursday will be the spike in Snowmass, with 72 percent occupancy.

Reservations for April 8 through 14 in Snowmass were up by a significant margin, with occupancies in the 20 percent range.
