Aspen’s compassion for canines

Dear Editor:

Last week our beloved and brave golden retriever, “Stryker,” passed away from cancer. We want to thank Dr. Kuck and staff at the Aspen Animal Hospital for their care and compassion that went above and beyond and for allowing him to pass away with dignity.

I would also like to thank those on Smuggler Mountain who smiled and gave him a pat as he worked up the mountain; and the Aspen Animal Shelter for caring for him and always asking how he’s doing. Finally, the kind staff at the Red Brick who let him sit in the warm lobby during my classes. Aspen is not a dog town because it has a lot of dogs; Aspen is a dog town because it has a lot of heart.
