AspenOUT, producers of Aspen Gay Ski Week, to launch new summer event in Snowmass
During Gay Ski Week, AspenOUT announced that it would debut a new LGBTQ event in Snowmass Village this summer.
The nonprofit that produces Gay Ski Week plans to launch its new “AdventureOUT Snowmass” July 4 to 8.
With an emphasis on community building and experiences in nature, AdventureOUT Snowmass will take a different spin on Aspen Gay Ski Week, according to a statement from Snowmass Tourism.
And in true Snowmass style, the event will cater to members of the LGBTQ community as well as their families.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed bringing Aspen Gay Ski Week to Aspen and Snowmass year after year and hope that AdventureOUT Snowmass will evolve as a great summer counterpart this year and for years to come,” AspenOUT executive director Kevin McManamon said in a statement.
On the AdventureOUT agenda so far are activities such as rafting, jeeping, a farm-to-table dinner, parties and outdoor concerts.
Snowmass “has always been a popular stop during Gay Ski Week,” Snowmass Tourism director Rose Abello said via email, “and we have been working with AspenOUT to develop a summer option.”
Plans for such an event have been in the works between Snowmass Tourism and AspenOUT for about two years, she said.
