Deceased Aspen-bound pilot ID’d
A 57-year-old man from Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., has been identified as the pilot who died last week when his Aspen-bound plane crashed in Cedaredge.
That’s according to The Daily Breeze, in Torrance, Calif., which identified the man through family members as Tari Taricco. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred around 6 p.m. on Nov. 19 in a residential area just north of Cedaredge. Preliminary results are expected Friday.
The pilot was the lone occupant of a 1978 Cessna 210 fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft flying from Torrance Municipal Airport to Aspen.
No residents in the vicinity of crash were injured, and no property in the neighborhood was damaged, aside from the scar caused by the plane, said Delta County Undersheriff Mark Taylor.
