Aspen World Cup preparation going full tilt
Anna Stonehouse/The Aspen Times |
As preparations continue for the World Cup Finals at Aspen Mountain, runs that will be part of the courses will be closing to the public as the March 15-19 races approach.
Starting Thursday, Summer Road, Strawpile and East and West 5th Avenue trails will be closed, according to the Aspen Skiing Company. Those runs on the lower portion of the mountain are where the races finish.
Skiers who end up below the bottom of Ruthie’s will have to take Magnifico Road back to Magnifico or to Little Nell.
Resort officials said access to Lift 1A still will be available via either Magnifico or Little Nell to Tower 10 Road or Schuss Gully.
