Aspen Wintersköl winners announced
Canines grab honors
The 29th annual Canine Fashion Show, co-produced by Aspen Animal Shelter and held Saturday in conjunction with Wintersköl, saw the following winning canines:
• Most Adorable — Gretchen Strecker with her golden retriever, Breeze.
• Best Dog Owner Lookalike — Colton Lang and his Aussie heeler mix, Arlo.
• Most Local — Gemma Goss with her mixed breed, Toria.
• Best in Snow — Melinda Goldrich and her three dogs: Tashi, Zeus and Taz.
The 48-hour snow sculpture competition, Wintersculpt, was held last weekend as part of the Wintersköl festivities and judged by a panel of independent community members based on creativity, technical execution and compliance to rules.
Local Yokels won Wintersculpt with their “Puppies in Ski Boots” creation and received a cash prize of $300 and four single-day lift tickets to Aspen Snowmass. Peak Season took second place with their sculpture, “Abundant Immersion,” and third place went to team HE with “Brew.”
Anderson Ranch Arts Center selected the five teams that participated in the competition.
